Practice & Conduct Standards

Championship practices start with championship preparation. Every interaction reflects Davis All-Stars' 16+ year legacy of excellence.

Arrival Requirements
Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled practice time
Wear Davis All-Stars branded coaching attire (required)
Review practice plan and skill progression goals
Equipment and mats prepared and safety-checked
Music, choreography notes, and training aids ready
Phone silenced and stored — emergency use only
Mindset Check
Come prepared with a clear practice goal for the day
Energy and enthusiasm ready to inspire athletes
Know your athletes' skill levels and progressions
Any athlete concerns communicated to lead coach
Presence & Engagement
Active coaching — not passive observing
Eyes on athletes at all times for safety
No side conversations or distractions
Energy that inspires athletes to push harder
Positive reinforcement balanced with constructive feedback
Address behavioral issues immediately and professionally
Technical Excellence
Proper progressions and skill-building sequences
Clear, concise corrections with demonstration
Safety spotting and technique reinforcement at all times

NON-NEGOTIABLE: The gym must be left cleaner than you found it. This is not optional — it is a reflection of our championship culture and respect for our facility.
Professional Boundaries
Maintain appropriate coach-athlete relationships at all times
No private social media connections with athletes
All athlete communication must be professional and gym-related
Never alone with an athlete in closed spaces — doors open always
Social Media & Public Conduct
Your social media is a reflection of Davis All-Stars — post accordingly
No negative posts about other gyms, coaches, or athletes
No profanity or unprofessional behavior online
Address conflicts directly — never gossip or vent to others
Bring concerns to leadership immediately
Parent Communication
All parent communication: professional, respectful, and timely
Respond to questions and concerns within 24 hours
Use approved channels: email, gym system, or scheduled calls
Never discuss other athletes or internal matters with parents
Escalate difficult conversations to gym ownership
Staff & Athlete Communication
Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions
Communicate schedule changes or absences immediately
Share skill updates and athlete concerns proactively
Always speak to athletes with respect — even difficult feedback
Never yell, belittle, or use sarcasm as a coaching tool

Onboarding Checklist

Your first four weeks set the foundation for your Davis All-Stars coaching journey. Here's what to accomplish at each stage.

Week 1
Orientation & Setup
Complete all required documentation and certifications
Receive Davis All-Stars coaching gear and uniform
Tour facility and review safety protocols
Meet coaching staff and administrative team
Review mission, vision, and core values
Shadow experienced coaches during practice
Weeks 2–4
Active Coaching
Co-coach assigned teams with mentor support
Lead practice segments under supervision
Complete self-assessment, identify growth areas
Receive feedback from lead coaches and ownership
Demonstrate proficiency in coaching standards
Ongoing
Continuous Growth
Quarterly coaching evaluations and goal-setting
Participate in professional development workshops
